Hi, I’m Mak 👋
I am currently the lead designer of internal tools at Alma. I leverage a former career in project management, a graduate degree in psychology, and my expanding UX expertise to design intentional products, all with the goal of making life a little easier.
In my spare time, I am an enthusiast of long-distance running, public library patronage, and my pug, Bruce.

My design approach
My design approach is a direct reflection of my windy path to product design as a career. I leverage my passion for improving the mental health landscape and my curiosity about human behavior to practice human-centered design that is realistic, pragmatic, and emotionally intelligent.
My years of scaling services, leading teams, and planning multi-year projects speak to my ability to tackle lofty, complex goals and plan for all of the things that might get in the way. Data-driven decision making is my love language.
As a designer I deeply embrace the beginner’s mind. I thrive in an environment where I am challenged and am able to celebrate the reality that effective design is the product of honesty, vulnerability, and curiosity of both the designer and the user.
Throughout my design career I’ve completed several courses in an effort to evolve my skillset. Some courses I’ve found particularly impactful on my approach to design are below:
Design Lab - Advanced Usability and Accessibility (certificate)
ShiftNudge (certificate)
Codeacademy - HTML and CSS Foundations (certificate)
